Music
At Greenland, we believe that a high-quality music education supports pupils to develop important listening skills and self-discipline. It sustains the fundamental skills to assist children in becoming resilient and creative learners. Music is an integral part of our culture and it helps pupils to relate to others and the wider world with a unique form of communication. Our vision is to educate pupils with enjoyable and memorable experiences so that they are able to develop a critical engagement with music as they progress through the curriculum.
At Greenland, we ensure all children are given the experience of performing to a wider audience. We also provide opportunities for pupils to express themselves musically in musical shows and talent competitions. Key Stage 2 pupils have the benefit of learning to play an instrument, with weekly lessons delivered by specialist teachers. Musical performances, with musicians from around the world, are a highlight in the summer term, allowing children to gain new musical experiences and learn about other cultures.
