Curriculum
Our Curriculum
At Greenland Community Primary School, we want to create a happy and secure environment where children have equal opportunities to succeed. Our curriculum offers numerous rich experiences that allow all pupils opportunities to explore the community and the world in which they live. It is our aim to deepen and develop their love of learning and to acquire the knowledge and skills necessary for their next steps in education. As well as ensuring maximum academic success, we want our children to become life-long learners and to develop as confident, responsible citizens.

At the heart of our curriculum is our commitment to developing the basic skills of reading, writing and maths. In addition to the National Curriculum requirements, we also teach RE and PSHE. These subjects complement pupils’ spiritual, moral, social and cultural development and fully equip them for life in modern Britain.

We have structured our curriculum so that each year group has a clear overview of what must be covered. These are documented in individual year group curriculum maps.
